Their 'evidence' is riddled with errors and misinformation, hearsay and inflammatory innuendo. Dead men walk again, and the shattered bits of shoddy secret networks long since collapsed under the weight of their own ineptitude are made whole and menacing once again. It is a shameful piece of dishonest, unreliable tripe." I have read all your ZGRAMS since our husband was arrested and I will not go back to each one and quote them word for word but I would like to make a few comments about his arrest and time at BCSO (Blount County Sheriff's Office). I feel that there has been a lot of misinformation put out on your website about this situation. I am an officer at the BCSO and wish to clarify a few things. I am sorry there was a confusion about your husbands whereabouts and his visitation time on the Saturday that you mentioned. I can guarantee you though that your husband was not being moved around just so you could not find him. Yes, your husbands roommate was forcefully taken from their room, and your husband was re-assigned to a different section and room. I have seen people moved three or four times in one day. Every move is a change in visitation time which is one hour a week for every inmate. If an inmate is moved, it is up to them to inform their family of their new time. You have made a comment about there being illegal Mexicans all over East Tennessee, and implying that nothing is being done with them. One day last week, we had app. 30 illegal aliens in custody, waiting to be deported to Mexico. They come into our facility on an almost daily basis, and when they leave with INS, NO we do not inform each and every wife or husband that they are leaving. We don't inform ANY family that they are leaving. That is a major security issue if any family knows when someone is going to leave our facility, either to another country, to court in Knoxville, to another county jail, or to state prison. As for your husband not having any money to take with him to Canada, that is apparently a matter of just not asking the right questions. You could have brought money to him the day you visited, or any of the days he was there for that matter. Anybody, family, friend or total stranger can drop off money 7 days a week, 7:00am till noon, whether it be $5.00 or $1,000.00 each day. Your husband could have had any amount of money put in his account and he would have had a check written to him the day he left. Your husband might have been frightened by the sight of officers with helmets, shields and dogs one day. Routinely, officers do random cell checks searching for contraband, weapons , and occasionally letters describing escape attempts. Thank you for your time." "Dear Officer of the BCSO: These things, however, do not apply to my husband - who was held in maximum detention for allegedly having missed a hearing and having overstayed his visa - both points we contend legally and hope to prove in court. I don't think my husband was singled out for exceptionally brutal treatment - I believe that your facility and your staff were USED to function as hit quads to make things unpleasant for people like my husband simply because the facility was there and known to be one of the most inhuman such prisons in all of America. As part of my doctoral work, I did a six week counseling stint in a prison for juvenile offenders in California, and to this day I am traumatized by what I saw and heard." "Before it was applied to Iraqi prisoners in the notorious torture chambers of Abu Ghraib prison, the 'nightmarish form of psychological torture' using vicious dogs to terrorize prisoners was practiced in U.S. county jails. But, who are the black-clad men and women who tortured American detainees in U.S. county jails? Fifty men lie face down on the cold prison floor with their manacled hands tightly bound and twisted behind their backs while fierce attack dogs, Dobermans and German Shepherds, terrorize the prisoners, lunging and snarling inches from their faces. Is this a description of another torture scene from the notorious Abu Ghraib prison in Iraq? No. This is a scene from a county jail in Tennessee in early 2003. While this outrageous scene sounds identical to the now infamous U.S. military torture sessions at the Abu Ghraib prison in Iraq, this incident, described in detail by a German eyewitness who survived it, occurred in February 2003 in the Blount County Jail in Maryville, Tennessee. A bizarre videotaped torture session using attack dogs to terrorize prisoners at the Blount County Jail was witnessed by Ernst Zundel, a German citizen and historical revisionist who was held in the jail at the time. Zundel had been taken from his home and American wife in Tennessee on February 5, 2003, in what appears to have been an extra-judicial rendition conducted by agents of the erstwhile Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS), then part of the Dept. of Justice headed by the former Attorney General John Ashcroft and his Israeli-American assistant, Michael Chertoff (Czech-born Chertoff's name means 'Son of the Devil' in Russian). At the time of his arrest, Zundel's immigration status was completely legal and he was in the process of obtaining his permanent residency permit on the basis of his marriage to an U.S. citizen. INS claims, incorrectly, that he had missed an interview, which his lawyer had asked to be rescheduled in writing. Zundel has never been convicted of any crime, in Canada, where he lived for 40 years, or the United States. Zundel's written testimony, which appears in his 2004 book, Setting the Record Straight: 'Letters from Cell No. 7', describes a group torture session that he witnessed in the Blount County Jail on February 8, 2003. Another session occurred on February 15, 2003, according to inmate reports, although Zundel, who was meeting with his attorney at the time, was spared. Zundel's detailed description of the use of dogs to terrorize the inmates at the county jail in Tennessee first appeared in a full-page 'Open Letter to the Members of the Senate and Congress of the United States of America,' which was published in the Washington Times on September 7, 2003. Ingrid Rimland, Zundel's American wife, placed three full-page informative ads about the extra-judicial arrest and deportation of her husband in the Washington Times during the summer of 2003, at a cost of some $20,000. Despite the explosive content of these ads and Zundel's eyewitness description of torture using dogs on American prisoners in a U.S. county jail, Ingrid said she did not get a single phone call from anybody in response. "Come Sunday, I heard dogs barking," Zundel wrote about the weekend torture session he witnessed in the Blount County Jail. "We were all ordered into our cells while black-uniformed SWAT teams with dogs went systematically from cell to cell, threw us on the floor facedown, handcuffed, arms twisted behind our backs. They dragged us outside the cells like sacks of potatoes while helmeted, visored, New World Order-type cops hollered commands at us. They searched our pockets, beds, and plastic bins. 'The dogs, dripping saliva from their snapping jaws, mainly Dobermans and German Shepherds, were kept on chain leashes two feet from our bodies and faces. Young, pretty women in skin-tight uniforms and tightly fitting flak jackets, all black in color, kept climbing over the men who were curled up, face down, shaking, frightened out of their wits. Some had tears streaming down their faces. The women filmed these hapless prisoners with mini-camcorders close up, laughing and joking, having themselves a ball. Why were those videos taken?' Zundel asked in 2003. 'They and their dogs were hysterical,' Zundel wrote recently. 'They were constantly shouting at us prisoners, lying face down, hands cuffed with Israeli-type plastic handcuffs behind our backs. A dog, about two feet away from me, was so vicious and angry that it kept rearing upon its hind legs, his paws in the front stabbing in the air, jerking wildly on the leash. It had no muzzle. It was so close I could see and hear the dog's teeth excitedly crash together in an awful sound. I saw his wild eyes and his frothing, drooling mouth. His spittle dripped on the floor next to me; some hit my arm, my prison uniform, and collected on the floor. There were dog handlers at each end of the 'range' where about 50 prisoners - all civilians, all Americans - were lying on the floor, trussed like turkeys, [who] were being terrorized by these dog handlers, much to the amusement of black-uniformed women filming us with their handy cam video cameras – laughing! Zundel wrote. Vicky Flynn, the Maryville-based spokesperson for Rep. John J. Duncan (R-2nd), who represents the Knoxville area where the Blount County Jail is located, said she had never heard of such reports. Asked about the reports of the use of dogs at the jail, Marian O'Briant, spokesperson for the Blount County facility, would only say, No comment. The Blount County Jail is managed by Sheriff James L. Berrong and Chief Ron Dunn, who held these positions at the time of the reported torture sessions. Berrong refused to answer the phone and, like O'Briant, Dunn would only say, No comment.' 'To hear about the use of dogs in this way within the United States is truly shocking,' Jonathan Turley, a professor of national security and constitutional law at George Washington University, told The New York Times. 'But Abu Ghraib didn't spring from the head of Zeus.'" "Ernst Zundel, Ingrid A. Zundel vs James Berrong in his capacity as Sheriff and Chief Executive Officer of the Blount County Jail, Blount County, Tennessee, Immigration and Naturalization Services, an agency of the United States Government, by and through Gary Slaybaugh, its representative. The plaintiffs filed an action in the district court challenging the imminent removal of Ernst Zundel from the United States and seeking an injunction against such removal. The district court dismissed the action by order of February 13, 2003. Asserting that Zundel is subject to immediate removal, the plaintiffs have filed in this court an emergency request for stay of removal and/or injunctive relief. This court may exercise its discretion to stay an order of removal. Bajjani v. INS, (unreadable on my fax) 670.688 (6th Cir.2001). However, requests for such relief are evaluated by the balance of several factors: 1) whether the applicant has demonstrated a likelihood of success on the merits; 2) whether the applicant will be irreparably injured absent a stay: 3) whether issuance of the stay will substantially injure the other interested parties; and 4) where the public interest lies. Id. The motion presently before the court fails to demonstrate any basis for the requested relief. Therefore, the emergency motion of stay removal and/or for injunctive relief is DENIED." "In a decision issued Feb. 27, the Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit in Cincinnati has unanimously upheld a lower court's judgment stripping historian and pacifist Ernst Zundel of his right to be heard on a petition for writ of habeas corpus which was filed when Zundel was first arrested by U.S. authorities in February 2003. Zundel was in a routine waiting period for U.S. permanent residence through his U.S. citizen wife, Ingrid, at the time of his arrest. 'Once again, Ernst Zundel has been betrayed by a federal judiciary which, in its rush to judgment, has tread roughshod on the Constitution and the letter and intent of the law in order to achieve a politically correct result,' said Zundel's attorney, Bruce Leichty. There is no precedent for denying an individual of Zundel?s immigration status a hearing on a habeas petition, said Leichty, who noted that the courts have routinely extended habeas rights even to illegal immigrants. Just weeks before the Sixth Circuit decision, he was convicted in a German courtroom of ?inciting racial hatred? because of his Holocaust revisionist views. Zundel asserted that he is a pacifist who is neither anti-Semitic nor racist but that he is simply a champion of his German people, and that he has the right to express different views about what happened during the World War II, including what happened to Jews. One of the judges gave a prohibited campaign contribution to the Bush reelection campaign after being appointed to the federal bench and another has a daughter working in Tennessee for the U.S. attorney's office, which handled the opposition against Zundel's petition in a Knoxville federal court. The February appellate decision was issued 'per curiam,' meaning that none of the judges acknowledged writing the decision, and it was designated 'not for publication.' There have been recent attempts to limit the extent to which federal judges can issue unpublished decisions because it is believed that judges are less accountable to the law if they know their decisions will not be widely read and inspected, notes Leichty. Leichty states that at the time of Zundel?s arrest, INS had a policy of not taking deportation action against immigrants awaiting permanent residence through U.S. citizen spouses, even if they had overstayed visa waivers. Zundel had been given work authorization in the United States and permission to leave and reenter. Because a Knoxville judge and now the Sixth Circuit have claimed not to have jurisdiction, however, he has never been able to present those arguments. When Zundel challenges the latest decision, that will mean that he will have legal challenges pending in three countries. After a Canadian court declared him to be a national security risk, the Canadian government spent over $100,000 on a charter plane to fly Zundel to Germany, where he was promptly arrested on criminal speech charges for views expressed in Canada and the United States." "Zundel married his Webmaster, Ingrid Rimland, and moved to Tennessee in 2001, only to be deported back to Canada by U.S. officials for visa violations in early 2003 and deported to Germany in March, 2005. Zundel’s long-expected trial in Germany began on November 8, 2005, but was almost immediately delayed after Judge Ulrich Meinerzhagen learned that the defense team included Horst Mahler, a disbarred right-wing German lawyer who had himself been convicted of inciting hatred against Jews in January 2005. Mahler had joined the defense team as the assistant of attorney Sylvia Stolz; Mahler and Stolz were both dismissed by Judge Meinerzhagen, who then adjourned the trial to give a new lawyer time to prepare a case in Zundel’s defense. The trial resumed, and after four months of proceedings, Zundel was convicted on February 15, 2007 on 14 counts of inciting racial hatred and defaming the memory of the dead. The presiding judge sentenced him to five years in prison, the maximum allowed under German law for those offenses. Zundel’s lawyer vowed to appeal the ruling." Many hours of television news reports were broadcast about the content of this publication and the surrounding controversy and trial. The Canadian government, its various branches like the police, the Attorney General’s office, the Canadian Department of Immigration, the courts with staff, clerks, stenographers, court reporters and security personnel spent millions of dollars for research, staff and courtroom space. Ernst Zündel, the man at the centre of this controversy, did not write this booklet. He merely supplied the four words on the original cover, stating 'Truth at last exposed.' 11. In this manner we shall prepare Revolutions which the Christians will make themselves and of which we shall reap fruit.
12. By our mockeries and our attacks upon them we shall make their priests ridiculous then odious, and their religion as ridiculous and as odious as their clergy. Then we shall be masters of their souls. For our pious attachment to our own religion, to our own worship, will prove the superiority of our religion and the superiority of our souls.
13. We have already established our own men in all important positions. We must endeavor to provide the Goyim with lawyers and doctors; the lawyers are au courant with all interests; doctors, once in the house, become confessors and directors of consciences.
